At West ATX Lifeguards, we’re all about making sure everyone can have a blast at pool parties and family gatherings, without any stress. We’re a crew of certified, local teens (Harry Forst, Dylan Carnahan, and August Heller) who grew up right here in West Austin, and we’re super serious about keeping our neighbors safe in the water. We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy a good swim or a cool pool party, knowing that their safety is looked after by people who really care. Our job is to keep an eye out, so all the parents can chill and the kids can have a great time. We’re here to make every poolside moment awesome, ensuring that safety and fun go hand in hand for all the families in West ATX.
Meet Our Lifeguards
August Heller
My name is August Heller, I am a sophomore at Westlake High School and on the WHS swim team and the Whitecaps of Westlake swim team. I have been swimming since I was 3 years old and it is my favorite sport. I am Red Cross Lifeguard certified, AED certified, CPR certified, and deep water rescue certified. I can guarantee that with my team and I, your kids will be in good hands and will be safe under our watchful eyes.
Dylan Carnahan
Hello! My name is Dylan Carnahan, I’m a graduating junior at westlake high school. I have been a lifeguard for over 2 years with AED, CPR and deep water rescue certification. I’m on the westlake high school varsity swim and dive. I’ve been a assistant coach for the Barton creek barracudas summer league swim team. I work great with kids of all ages, as well as our team of guards.
Harry Forst
Hi, I’m Harry! I’m in my junior year at Westlake High School and have been a Red Cross certified lifeguard for over two years. I’ve been around the water since I can remember, and have swum competitively for the past 7 years. Right now, I’m a varsity swimmer for the Westlake High School swim team and the Whitecaps of Westlake club swim team. I’ve also been an assistant coach for the Barton Creek West Barracudas summer league team for the past two years. I’m an experienced leader as the brass sergeant for the Westlake High School Chaparral Band and junior class president for my YMSL chapter. I have two younger sisters and have worked with kids of all ages. In my free time, I love hanging out with my family and friends, playing video games, and driving. I hope to see you soon!

We keep everyone safe so you can enjoy your party! Depending on the size of the pool or the number of kids, we will recommend – based on our training and safety requirements – how many lifeguards must be present.
Lake Party Lifeguards
To keep everyone safe and accounted for, we recommend multiple lifeguards for Lake parties. This includes waterslide pontoons or shoreline fun.
Land-Watch Party Lifeguards
This is lifeguarding for parties that don’t have a pool or any sort of deep water like bouncy castles and waterslides or dunk tanks. They are there just to keep watch and make sure no one gets hurt. The number of lifeguards recommended is dependent on the number of kids and the number of water-related play areas. 3 hour minimum.
We keep everyone safe so you can enjoy your party! This includes private and public pools. We also will guard for backyard bouncy houses, water slides, and more!
02. Open-Water Party Lifeguards
Hire us to lifeguard events in open-water! We guard lake parties, boat parties, triathlons, and anything else!
Note: Holiday prices go up by $5/hr/guard. If you cancel the event within one week, there is a cancellation fee of 50% of the original quote. There is a travel fee of $2.50/mile/guard if driving distance exceeds 10 miles from 2411 Cliffs Edge Dr.

We will respond to your booking request within 24 hours!
We cannot place lifeguards at pools that are open to public. You must have the entire pool rented for your event.
Lifeguard to swim guest ratio: We require 1 lifeguard to every 15 pool party guests. This is also age and pool or area dependent. For longer sessions, more lifeguards may be required.
All children under 5 must be within an arm’s length of their guardian while in the water.
Diving boards cannot be used with a West ATX lifeguard is on duty.
Diving boards must be blocked off during pool parties.
If you have a slide in your pool, a second lifeguard will be required for the pool party OR the slide must be closed off.

02. How far in advance should I book a West ATX Lifeguard?
We recommend booking our services at least a week in advance to ensure availability. During peak seasons, such as summer, it’s best to book even earlier.
03. Can I hire a West ATX Lifeguard for multiple days?
Yes, you can hire a lifeguard for multiple days. We offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate your needs, whether it’s for a single day or an extended period.
04. Are West ATX Lifeguards certified?
Yes, all our lifeguards are certified through the American Red Cross. They are trained in lifesaving techniques, first aid, and CPR.
05. How much does it cost to hire a West ATX Lifeguard?
The cost varies depending on factors such as the duration of service and the number of lifeguards required, based on the size of the event. Please see the pricing section above and fill out our booking form to get started. Payment must be sent before the event.
06. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Venmo, with cash for tips. Payment details should be provided during the booking process.
07. Who can I contact if I have more questions?

08. What happens if I need to cancel my event?
If you need to cancel your event, please contact us as soon as possible. If the event is cancelled within a week of it taking place, a 50% cancellation fee will be charged.
09. What happens if weather impedes my event?
In inclement weather interferes with your event, you will only be charged for the amount of time that our guards are on duty (plus the travel fee if applicable).
